My grandfather gave me my first gun, also a Daisy. (They had only one model then.) My grandmother cried for days, certain I'd put someone in the hospital or morgue with it. One middle-of-the-night we got a long distance call (from Texas to Oklahoma). My grandfather made my dad promise to pour the barrel full of lead, so he (my grandfather) could get some sleep.

My dad told me to be careful with the BB gun and that was that. Oddly enough I was. Maybe because I wasn't an urban kid in the 21st century?

dbsoundguy,

He looks quite pleased with his new bb gun. Did you give it a twirl too? :D

I remember when my son (now 32 with 6 kids) got his b-b gun at about 14. He used it to shoot his older sister's picture in the basement until we caught him.

It's good to start them early and teach them right. I guess most of us started with that good ole Daisy, sure had many good times with mine.
