I hope to join the ranks of Rossi owners very soon - I found a model 720 with a bobbed hammer at a gun shop in Dallas, if they still have it on Monday, I'm buying it. :)

I have a 971 imported by Interarms. It's a stainless 2". I love to shoot it. It handles 357 125g. JHP just fine. I put 150 rounds threw it just this afternoon. The Rossi Finger Grooved Rubber Grips it came with, fit my hand perfect. I have 8 357s, Taurus, Ruger, Smith, and this Rossi. This 971 is one of my favorites to carry and shoot. It looks to me to be built every bit as good as my S&W or Rugers and better than Taurus. I have nothing but good to say about Taurus 357s, I have a 608, 627, 617, and a 605. I work at a Gun Shop and I wish someone would trade in a 462. I would by it in a hartbeat, Bobb the hammer and carry it as backup to my 971. If anybody out there lives around Cleveland, Ohio and wants to sell FTF a 462 e-mail me [email protected]

Nice to see the 971/972 crowd check in.

Guess that's why revolvers are good bet. Simple to operate, use, and keep up.
Can't beat that.

After all the hoopala about needing a double stack carry much ammo stuff is over, the criminal findings are that revolvers are still viable for defense.

For most of the actual gun defense, most guns are not fired, and still few shoots are used in most actual scenarios.

I do appreciate my pistols, but the need for lots of rounds seems in most cases to be less and less.

One of the sponsors here, Tucker Gunleather has holsters that could fit the Rossi 68. Click on them and contact them on this.

Gould and Goodrich has a holster model B733 that can work also.

Galco, Don Hume, and Bianchi are other possible sources.

Just a little recent actual Rossi use history that saved lives. This is docmented by Mas Ayoob. If you're out there watching Mas, thanks.

It seems there's a jewlery store where the owner purchased 11 Rossi 5 shot 351s for his store. Store staff were indoctrinated and proficient in shooting these little .38 Specials and the guns were stashed in places where only the staff knew the guns were and the staff could get to them.

Fast forward a few weeks or so. Two stone cold armed killers enter and try to rob the store. One perp has a sawed off double barrel shotgun loaded with buckshot. The other has a handgun.

Store staff see the attack coming, just barely. In the insuing gun fight all the Rossis are used by the staff and store owner. The owner did have his own Remington shotgun, but that came latter in the battle. A single action .44 magnum Ruger SuperBlackhawk was also used by the staff latter in the battle.

After the gunfire died both perps were dead and none of the store employees or the owner were harmed. However the perps did come close any number of times from geting telling shots on the owner or the staff. These very fortunate people moved out of harms way just by chance or saw the perps about to fire.

All the Rossis were emptied except one that had a couple of rounds still left in it.

Soon after the police did their thing the store owner went and purchased 11 more Rossi 351s. The Rossi 351s at the shootout were tagged and bagged for evidence. It's not recorded publically if the store ever got the shootout evidence guns back.

All the Rossi guns functioned as advertised.

True, the store owner does carry a 9mm. pistol on his person now, but the store still has the Rossi guns for just in case situations.

I have a Bianchi that is SUPPOSED to fit, but the security snap won't fit. Either it too short or the hammer spur is too wide. Brand new holster that I can't use, unless I do some modification to it and I'm not too keen on that idea.

New to the site. I´ve owned Rossi´s longer than any of my Taurus pistols. I personally carry a Rossi stainless 462 snubby on a regular basis. I´ve put a thousand rounds through it with no issues to report. Highly recommended firearm...

I have the little Gallery Pump .22, the model before they put the saftey on top of the bolt, and it shoots shorts, longs and long rifles and still is like new. I bought it in 1986

I have a Rossi M885, SS, 2" bbl. I bought it in 1990 and used it for my primary carry gun for several years.
Now it's my BUG and stays in the car between the driver's seat and the console, loaded with 125 gr HydraShoks.
My practice ammo is loaded with Rainier plated bullets because lead bullets keyhole.

Well, add me to the list! I picked up a new 351 snub a couple weeks ago. What with the holidays I haven't been to the range with it yet, but I sure am looking forward to it. Hopefully, Saturday!
