Available at your local Wally World and other gun shops. 18 for a few bucks.
If you can figure out how to use it, the On Target program is good for the measurements, I still can't get it to work right for me.


Handgun Shootout Rules

Two handed, strong side.

Two winners in each Shootout.
One using a Taurus Handgun
One using any other Handgun
One overall winner

Rimfire

Caliber .17 or .22
Iron sights or un-magnified red dot sights.
Winchester small target (18 pack, Walmart) at 10 yards.
5 rounds each target, as many as you want to shoot.
Maximum score is 50, in case of a tie tightest group wins.
Post a pic of the handgun used (optional) and the target you want to submit with the center to center measurement with an arrow between the holes.
Post the model and caliber of the pistol used.

Centerfire

Any caliber handgun (revolver or pistol)
Iron sights or un-magnified red dot sights.
Target is a B-27 center (or full size silhouette) at 15 yards (45 feet) for barrel longer than 4".
Target is a B-27 center (or full size silhouette) at 10 yards (30 feet) for barrel 4" and under.
5 rounds each target, as many as you want to shoot.
Maximum score is 50, in case of a tie tightest group wins.
Post a pic of the handgun used (optional) and the target you want to submit with the center to center measurement with an arrow between the holes.
Post the model and caliber of the pistol used.


Winner will be selected on the first day of the following month.

I thought I would try a 7 yard (21') for fun to see if it would be something to add for March.
I posted some stuff in the January Shootout thread.
I did another 20 rounds and came up with this.
10 rounds at 7 yards, taking my good ol' time.
(P.S. Seem like 5.4gr load is a bit light, stovepipes quite often, only did 100 rounds so I'll shoot them off, had one FTFire 1st. strike)

Took my new 1911A1 Compact to the range this morning just to get some more practice with it. Citadel (Armscor/Howa) out of the Philippines, 230 grain Winchester hollow point factory "personal protection" ammo. 10 Yards, B27 target

Non Taurus division, score 50/2X, but pretty spread out. Not too bad for the second time I've fired this gun though if I do say so myself. Picked it up this Monday. Still waiting on the ambidextrous safety parts to get here before I start carrying it as I'm left handed.

Oops, you're right, I'm wrong. I've been thinking it's a 4.2" barrel for all this while. I didn't manage to try for the shootout today, as we were busy doing other stuff.

My friend rented a Springfield G.I. 1911, and those sights were really hard to use after getting used to three-dots. That weapon drew blood when my fingers slipped while racking the slide. I told everyone else that the bloodstains on my shirt were because he shot me with a .22.

Just like gwk posted. This month, barrels 4" and shorter get to shoot from 10 yards. BBGun did well with his S&W snubby for December and January.

Thought I would do some fun stuff today.
B-27 30 yard reduced for 15 yards.
So it is half the height of a B-27 full size.

10 rounds at 15 yards.

B-27 full size at 30 yards.
20 rounds. Score 111 of 200 possible. (outside the 7-ring or the silhouette = 0)

I marked one hole as 2. I wasn't sure, so I pushed a bullet in the hole and it went all the way through.
They are so close together it is really hard to tell.
Tried the other holes and the bullet does not go through all the way.

Our WalMart has Birchwood Casey targets in the 18 pack but they don't say Winchester. Are these the same targets? What are the diameters of the x, bullseye so we can measure and make sure.
