I have been reloading for about 2 years now. With my limited experience i finally stumbled on a load that my 1911 likes. a 200 gr. lswc 4.2 gr Bullseye with a cci300 large pistol problem, mixed brass. 1.20col. Could some of you reloaders out here please post your favorite loads for the 45 auto?

I shoot 5.0 grains B'eye behind a Lee cast, tumble lube design SWC. It's an accurate bullet design and a standard pressure load that cycles 100 percent. I've found the rounded profile of the nose of this bullet feeds in finicky 1911s if you seat it out for a decent OAL. I no longer have a 1911 and my Ruger P90 will feed anything, but this could be a consideration for some in a SWC mold.

Been using 5.1 grns of tightgroup with 230 gn ball. Runs the M&P ok and is controllable.

I've been loading 4.6 gr. of IMR 700x with 230 gr. rn Berry's plated. This has been my bread and butter load for several months. Runs great in all my 1911's with reduced muzzle flip compared to factory loads.

I have used 4.6 universal with that bullet but it would only run in the Springfield 1911. The 5.1 TG with the 185 double struck plated (my previous entry said 230)
gives a better recoil.

Check that its 185gn. double struck ball with 5.1gns of tight group. The above load would test the guns pressure limit. :loco:
