Is it safe to dry fire a PT 1911? I was told it was not and it would damage the gun. What is the verdict? Thanks..

Would a fired case work with the struck primer left in place? This is only my second 1911 after owning what was probably the only unreliable Kimber in the whole country. Despite having years of experience with many other firearms, I am a novice with the 1911 and have lots to learn. I do feel bitten by a new type of gun bug! ;D

GW again I'm going to say this, I don't know if it will hurt anything but I dry fire my PT1911 and all of my other 1911's and have never had any problems doing so, but like was posted if you're worried get some snap caps. What a coinincidence I also have a home in Kingman.
