I was watching Biography and they were showing the Reagan assassination attempt....and they mentioned that Hinckley was using something called Devastator bullets. I did a google search on this, and found surprisingly little about the actual bullets. The claim that Biography made was that the Devastator bullets are exploding. HUH? is that possible? I'm not aware of anything back then that would have been available on the open market that would do this, but the more I think about it, I'm not so sure....does anybody have any HARD data on these bullets, and what makes them explode? Or, is this just anti-gun hype put out there by the Brady bunch......?

Devastator Ammo

Here's the "Detno-Expanding compound" (pretty nasty, can detonate from a 6 inch fall, detonation velocity of 3 miles per second) :
