I finally got the cojones to take the hammer out of my 605, today, and cut the spur off. I had taken many S&W revolvers apart, but the insides of the Taurus kind of freaked me out.
Drawing the gun out of my pocket, the other day, the hammer spur caught on my pants. Fortunately, it wasn't a SHTF draw, but it was enough to get my attention.
It turned out to be fairly easy, and the re-installation went well. I immediately took it to the range to make sure it functioned correctly, and it did. I fired off several different rounds, from std .38s, to full house .357s. Everything went bang.
All is good. 8)
