Sounds good to me, pretty sure the quality label will return in short order ala Dan Wesson.

Hmm, I have mixed feelings. I really like that the company Sam Colt established (the second company, if you want to be really thoroughly correct) is still here and making (IMHO) quality products.

The new Python has been at the top of the gunbroker sales list for revolvers for quite some time.

But CZ is another company I hold in high regard, and they have indeed seemed to do well with Dan Wesson. Colt would still definitely be around, it's like just the fine print will change - and hopefully the business side will be more solid.

In general I'd rather that if Colt isn't going to be independent that it fall under the umbrella of another US company. It does also make me wonder if being acquired by CZ would impact Colt's military contracts.

Colt has teetered on the brink of collapse for years. I believe that the military contracts that it banked on for so long have expired. It has shown some signs of revival with the reintroduction of it’s once popular revolver line. CZ can bring needed new technology and financial resources which will be life saving for the Colt brand. However, with the Biden/Harris anti-gun agenda threatening the firearms industry, I have to wonder if CZ will close the deal.

With manufacturing facilities in the U.S. it would probably boost CZ's chances at landing military/government contracts. Being overseas companies hasn't hurt Sig, Glock, Beretta.... Part of the requirements is to have U.S. mfg capabilities.

Geez, I hate to see an American icon fall into foreign hands. But, it's better than loosing it completely + great quality across the brands.

Colt's been propped up by their military contracts since the '90's and they've filed bankruptcy twice in the last 50 years. The only question in my mind for decades has been whether somebody bought it and made it a subsidiary or it finally went broke one time too often and got sold off piecemeal.

probably one of the better options for Colt. CZ is a very good company. in my opinion, better option than Ruger...

I don't have any personal experience with CZ, but I do have a Dan Wesson 1911. I've had no problems with it whatsoever, but comments on the 1911 forums say DW customer service has gone in the crapper since they moved their operations to CZ's facilities. Poor factory service, phone calls and e-mails not returned, lack of parts availability, etc.

I do believe that Dan Wesson was about to go belly up when CZ swooped in and saved it. The "poor factory service" and lack of parts may have more to do with nine months of lock down, than anything else.

CZ got to be after an American address!
they already make a superior handgun, shotgun, rifles, even 22 rifles, they have a facility in America already and they typically have excellent parts availability, and customer service for me has been exceptional,. don't see any other reason that CZ would aquire Colt myself.

Wow, CZ acquiring Colt. What a world.
Note I believe it will be for the better, it is just very awkward.
Still, Colt can only blame themselves for digging themselves into a hole that deep.
I wish I had the money to buy one of the new Colt Pythons. I definitely do not have the money to buy an old Python.
I expect CZ will jack up the prices of the Pythons. If we do not see them displaced by yet one more snore-inducing overpriced 1911.

I got outta CT. Good move, too bad it took me 64 years
The way things are going we will all have to get out of USSSA in the next couple of years.
USSSA is the Union of the Soviet Socialistic States of America, our new tyrants already started building at an accelerating speed.
