Citigroup Announces Gun Control Requirements for Clients and Small Businesses | Breitbart

Gun owners are being separated from society. When we're not considered to be part of polite (the good people) society, it won't be as hard to step on us (those people) for the good of that society.

While they are a public entity they are perfectly in the bounds of the law to decide
what kinds of transactions they want to deal with. If they new websites were selling
access to child pornography would it not be reasonable for them to stop accepting
payments for the product?

Someone else will step in to take the business. No brainer.

"It doesn’t impact the ability of consumers to use their Citi cards at merchants of their choice."

Yes it does. I'm about to call them and cancel the credit card I've had with them for 18 years.

Company's and individuals are falling over each other to be first in line to give up the rights our Founding Father's thought so important and our soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines fought and died for. What a sad commentary on our society.

Well equating us to child pornographers makes it even easier to do away with our rights. The article is a harbinger of things to come, and reminds me of translated press releases I've read from the early 30s in Germany. The libertarian philosophy works just fine in a society that's willing to live and let live. In an us verses them society the side with the most votes sends the "thems" to reeducation camps. If the big corporations line up against the firearms businesses and, by proxy, firearms owners we're going to loose what political allies we have and our firearms rights.

Don't forget, the NAZIs were "perfectly in the bounds of the law" when they confiscated property in the 1930s.

Since it is against Federal law to conspire to violate someone's civil rights, why isn't it against Federal law to conspire to violate someone's constitutional rights?

We just need a good 2A lawyer to get on it.
How exactly do they plan to enforce this? it isn't like they can check every single store to make sure they are complying, so at best its a honor system?

To me it looks like all a store has to do is just say, yeah, sure, totally do that, "nudge, nudge, wink, wink" then carry on selling to whoever the actual law will allow. The bank cant take your money if you dont comply, cause that is theft, the worst they can do is close your account, giving you all your cash.

From a consumer perspective, it also isnt like they can know what your buying in a store, go to walmart all your bank knows is, you spent x amount at walmart, same with academy, or any other store, including small local gun stores. The only records the bank has access to are where you purchased things, the name of the store, and amount you spent. If a LGS was called for instance bob's market, instead of bobs super killy gun store, they would have zero way to know what type of product was sold in that store. Short of sending someone to every single place to check, something they cant do.

Again, no real way to do this, it's a all bark move on the banks part and has zero teeth behind it

I hear Dick's just got the news that their sales have dropped significantly since the news of their anti-2A stance. Maybe the rest of them will get the hint, we don't like being told what to do and we vote with our money.

UPDATE: CEO of Dicks says gun control is more important than their bottomline. Hmmm....how many Dicks in CHICAGO? A sporting goods store that is for gun control is just plain stupid! Don't waste your money there.

NOTE: get rid of any CityBank credit cards too.

You are correct. They have that right. We also have the right to not use them also so we should boycott them but not using them. If you have their card, transfer to another one then cancel. The same way people are doing with Dick's. Don't support those that don't support you.

Constitutional rights only apply to the .gov (basically). There should be no civil rights in my opinion, let private people and business do as they wish and the .gov should treat everyone the same, period.

I am just wondering why it is OK to conspire, talk about, organize, raise money and work to deprive me of my Constitutionally guaranteed right to bear arms, but if I refuse to bake a cake because I disagree with the choices some idiot made, I'm the bad guy? This is like the liberal logic about protecting children once they are born, but killing them before delivery is condoned and paid for by taxpayers, it just is past my understanding.....and that should not be. It is also why Trump is the President.
