does anyone know of a spurless hammer for this gun? I had a local smith grind down the one on my gun and it's not as slick looking as the factory hammers that i've seen on some s/w's. Taurus csvc says there is no factory offering.

A good smith can shape and polish to factory dimensions. Some smiths are much better than others. Over the years I have looked at some that looked like bubba cut with a torch and finished with a grinder. Others are factory or custom quality. Depending on how deep the smith went it may be possible to salvage at reasonable cost.

Gotta pic of what you hammer looks like?

Some people leave on extra "meat" from a spur job to keep the hammer weight up. In my opinion, that little bit of extra ain't worth weighing.

So, if your de-spur has extra meat to lose, perhaps your gunsmith (or another) can take it down to the flush Taurus style.
