I'd bet he always does now.

Another good line -- 'the one who was shot was lagging behind.' LOL.

'His mom rushed him to the hospital.' Wonder if her next act was to contact a lawyer and the media to protest her son being shot just because he wanted to have money for Christmas presents.?

Teens. Four teens, and the one with the gun might have been 13. Sheesh.

Don't know what '13 year old' means to other people, but I've seen 6' 2", 300 pound 13 year olds.

Glad it turned out well for Borrego and his family -- it was a good thing they all went inside' things could have gotten a lot more complicated with the rest of the family mixed into in the melee.

It is just sad that someone 13 years old would have that mind set.

That's my thoughts also! Glad he listened to what God was telling him (carry your gun today). :)
What is mind blowing to me is the last comment by the news person, they don't believe he will be charged? I understand it but just don't like it as someone could try and find some stupid way to try. You defended yourself, fine but you shot more than once or it's child abuse!;)

Eight years of b o has radicalized them young! Wonder what the next few years hold in store, due to the hate he espoused? I wonder what the % increase of cop killing have been. b o inflamed the racial division in our country, to a point I don't know it will ever get back to pre-b o.

“Before pulling the trigger, my last thought was 'we're all going to die right here because none of them are going to get in the house,'" Borrego says.

Yeppers.

You forgot to mention that the presents were for his illegitimate kids.
Unfortunately, I have an obligation to go the CPR route. But for “lagging behind”? Nope. Article doesn’t say where the thugger was shot but there are plenty of first aid options before CPR becomes a necessity. I pocket carry my SP101 every day and have done so for the past year and for the same reason.

And that’s all I have to say about that.

Around here, 12 year olds lend guns to 13 year olds to shoot 14 year olds.
This story is an excellent demonstration of something I've said many times; guns are for keeping your enemies as distant as possible. When it's within a foot of your person, the gunner has made defense a lot easier. Glad this ended well for the good guy.

Thankfully these young punks haven't learned all the tricks of the "trade" ...yet. Now they're off to the higher learning institute for criminals, where they'll get 3 hots and a cot and a world class education in how to be better criminals from professionals with decades of experience. :(

We need to bring back hard labor and chain gangs. Make prison what it's supposed to be a punishment and a deterrent to becoming a thug in the first place. Not a revolving door at a plant that builds super criminals....

A 13 year old can and will kill you just as dead as an adult. Many gangs will have their younger members "both male and" female carrying their guns so if they get stopped police won't find them as easily. Years ago a friend of mine was killed by a 11 year old when he was stopped by a group of young bangers in a theater parking lot. Witnesses said he grabbed the leader and was holding him in an armbar and trying to keep his hands out of his pocket when the 11 year old came up behind him and shot him in the back of the head. I've seen other instances of very young thugs robbing and killing innocent people for no other reason than they were the wrong color or they just looked weak.

Growing up in an environment of gang life, hate and blaming everything on everyone else breeds these parasites and I wouldn't hesitate for an instant just because of their age if threatened by them.

While that kid might have been 13, the gun he put to the guy's head was full grown.

Folks live a life of crime because they are more scared of working for a living than they are of going to jail.
