Wonder why Taurus dosn't use the same compact grip style ,that is used on the Judge Public Defender ,on the 445 UL or any other Med. Frame Taurus revolvers ???

The PD is built on the smaller model 85 frame, not the larger Tracker frame. I'm not aware of a smaller or 'boot' grip made, at least by Taurus, for the medium frame revolvers. In fact, I'm not sure anybody makes such a grip, at least I haven't seen one.

I have a 455 that I would love to find a wood boot grip for. haven't had any luck as of yet.

I'm sure Taurus would have to change the grip frame ..on Medium Frame revolvers...but a Compact grip would be a sweet option

Well to the best of my knowledge, the frame sizes for Taurus® Revolvers; smallest to largest are..........
• Small Frame - 85, 94, 605, 732, 905, 941, etc..
• Compact Frame - 405, 415, 425, 455, 617, 627, 817, Tracker Series, etc..
• Medium Frame -65, 66, 82, etc..
• Large Frame - 44, 416, 444, 454, 513, 608, etc.
(Caveat -Large Frame and the "Raging Series" are essentially the same size)

As a general rule, grips with in frame size, say Small size Mdl #85, 605, & 905; ARE fully interchangeable. Grips across frame sizes, such as Compact size Mdl 617 and Medium size Mdl 82; ARE NOT interchangeable.

Anyone feel free to correct me if I am mistaken.

i think it would be nice to have a 445 UL with a shorter grip frame ,compact similar to whats on the Public Defender..it would make the 445 UL so much more concealable...

What grips will fit a Taurus 85 revolver ? S&W 'K' perhaps ? I wanted to get some oversize wood grips for my model 85, but don't know what grips will fit. Thanks, George
