I think that with the popularity of the PT1911 we might see a commander
style in the near future. Only makes good business sense.

i am game for one if they decide to build them. my wife has claimed my colt defender as her ccw piece and i miss it. I wish i could a 2" barreled .45 tracker too.

In my limited experience, 1911s that are less than 4.25 are tricky to make work. The engineering adjustments make 4" and, especially 3" guns finicky (again, in my experience and observation - there are many exceptions and folks that have never had trouble). Before Taurus comes out with a compact, I'm sure they will do everything possible to ensure function reliability from day one.
