hi eveyone. will be picking up a new 24/7 g2 next week. first thing i intend to do (after i read manual), is to break it down and give it a good cleaning. do you use any special products to do this? i would like to be able to use stuff i might have around the house if that is o.k. (like 4in1 oil for instance). thanks all for taking the time to read and giving me some ideas. :)

I use Gun Scrubber, CLP and Breakfree Brake Cleaner (non-chlorinated) to clean, but they are not household items. They are not too expensive at Wal-Mart and are well worth their cost to protect your investment.

I use Eezox, gun grease for the slide and Gun Scrubber Synthetic Safe. You can get them from eBay & the local and online gun stores.

I also have the link to the video on how to remove the striker in this thread.

All items should be easily available, and probably cheaper at WalMart. I use the Synthetic Safe Gun Scrubber to get the packing grease out, especially in the nooks & crannies with the little red straw. Also suggest some Rem Oil or such wipes in the gun bag for a 'quickie' at the range. Be sure to post a range report and pics when you can. I still need to get the trigger broke in better on my G2C45, but luv the gun otherwise. Welcome aboard!! :)

What I use on my G2 is Hoppes and an old toothbrush. After everything is cleaned really good I uses Gunscrubber in the area around the firing pin and channel and spray until it runs out clean. Afterwards I wipe it until everything is dry and oil according to the owners manual.
