Hi all, First post and got to say you all have a nice place here. I just purchased a PT145 from Academy this AM and was wondering what I should do to clean it before taking it out to the range. This is my first handgun and would really appreciate the help.

Thanks,

Chris

My Pt145 is now ready to go to the range. I just have to wait for my BIL to clean his rifle and we are set.

Thanx for your help.

The first time I cleaned my PT145Pro the slide was VERY hard to remove. I saw metal shavings that I am sure was from me forcing the slide off. I put the slide back on and removed it easier the second time. Is this normal?

Yes, pretty normal, the gun will break in as you use it. Sort of like a new car engine, it breaks in as you use it. Remember just don't "over oil" your firearm, it should be alight coat and that's it.
