It's very simple really. Good dealers and business owners use it all the time. So does the military.

Common sense says( makes good business sense ,too) if they don't know the answer that they should find out the answer or find someone who does know it.

Clerks can't be aware of "everything gunny" that has to do with shooting. Just way too much data to absorb for any one person.Ballsitics, gun types, gunsmithing, add ons, brands, makes, models, long guns, short ones, etc., and too many other aspects and things to name. There are those who gather a wealth of knowledge of firearms, but their numbers are few. Even for those who have been in the 'biz' most of or during an entire lifetime.

Granted one can maintain a large knowledge of certain types. Overall may be another story all together.

Collectively as a group knowledge helps. But even at that exposure to this info and training may be limited as seems to be the case a majority of the time.

Clerks and shooter store operators may have limited experience. Knowing who to go for or how to find out things would be a tremendous help to themselves and the customers.

Sadly that's not always the case.
Be happy if the stores and ranges in your area have sources to go to or go the extra mile to help find things out. :)

Several things to consider. If looking for handgrips sometimes using the " Taurus Large Frame Revolver" or "608 revolver grips" has to be looked for or under. This is for the M44 or the 608 models..

For the .44 magnum Tracker the TRACKER name needs to used.

For the 444, the Raging Bull moniker is what's needed.

Some of this may seem obvious, but had to try different things and some experimentation at the sites to get info.
