Saw a report on FoxNews Channel, the Oblameo White House is touting how since 2008 we have reduced imports of foreign oil from 59% to 48%.
Well, DUH!!!!
The price got so high, we all cut back, the price keeps going up, we cut back more, we don't use as much, so OF COURSE we don't import as much.
They're taking credit for it, as usual, spin doctors again.

Last tank for my pickup was just south of $60.
Won't be too long it'll be $80 or $90 or $100.

I filled up yesterday. $50. Locally price jumped .20 a gallon today. Newt claims that if he's elected, gas will be $2.00 a gallon. If the government would allow drilling in the US, gas would probably drop below a dollar.

It takes up to five years to bring in new oil and start pumping it. So what is coming out of the ground now is NOT due to Obama, it is due to either GW or WC. However, the american public believes Obama is the great one. And all those oil leases GW approved in the Atlantic and Pacific were voided by Obama.

It spent $72 to fill my truck yesterday. I cussed the oil companies, the oil speculators, and the idiot in chief, immediately after paying for my gas. I felt better afterwards ................ until now when y'all had to bring this topic up again!

I'm pretty sure that ExxonMobil, BP, etc. will post record/near-record profits again while everyone continues to blame the government. The thing is - the oil companies know that we're all addicts, so they'll just keep jacking up the prices until we stop buying or otherwise change our habits.

At least I'm pretty sheltered from the effects - the current car isn't exactly a fuel-sipper, but my commute (such as it is) is about 5-10 minutes, so I only drive about 6-8K miles/year. I feel for everyone else, though.

If it wasn't for the almost 300 mile round trip to our other house it wouldn't be so bad, a tank usually last 3 weeks with local trips.
One tank usually gets me 350 miles. Averaging 20-21MPG in the Ranger.

And now we refuse to accept oil from Canada. Why not build the refinaries right on the US-Canadian border and take all they'll give us?? Add to that, oil specialists and geologists state the midwest has possibly the largest oil deposits in the world. Put my a$$ in the White House and I can make better decisions then what we're seeing. It is inexcusable that we're paying record dollars for gas yet Exxon-Mobil continually declare record profits every quarter, now owning the 5 or 6 highest quarterly profits in history. Does common sense only apply to people in are NOT in office? A senator in SC said it best, all you need to get voted into Congress or higher is time..........and money. Lower and middle class people are not in Congress. Only the wealthy unless I missed someone. Gotta stop, my BP is going up!

A lot of the times it doesn't go far enough is because they cut the gas with up to 15% ethanol. Since ethanol produces about 30% or so less energy by volume than gasoline, you'll see reduced mileage as a result.

I sure hope all the republicans can come together after the nominations are done and all vote for 1 person even if it was not there pick. I plan to. The problem with gas prices is that the cost at the pump has nothing to do how much it costs to produce and deliver, it's all based on speculation. Nt here is some based on supply and demand but more on speculation.
As much as I can't stand the SOB in office and his "change" staff it isn't all his fault. A lot of the blame is on the banks and realtors. When the banks were handing out mortgage loans like they were free with no regard to the ability of the lendies to be able to afford the payments sooner or later the house of cards is going to crash! With a lot of pension funds being ensolvent for the past 10 years, what the hell did they expect? It was one giant ponzi scheme!
