After watching countless reviews about the GX4 and seeing nothing but positive feedback, I bought a used GX4 on Saturday from my local pawn shop. I took it to the range that day and put a few hundred rounds through it. I was pleased with it.
Since that time, I've been hunting for the right holster to carry it. During that process, I chatted with Memphis Beech (YouTuber) asking for advice to help choose an AIWB holster. He sent me a photo of a Taurus pistol (I don't know the model) that had exploded when being fired. He said this is the 5th Taurus pistol he's seen do this. He also sent me a video of a Taurus (again, unsure of the model) where the user loaded a magazine in it, held JUST THE GRIP with nothing in the trigger guard, shook the gun and it fired.
All this now has me concerned about the safety of carrying a Taurus pistol. A photo of the exploded pistol and a link to the shake to fire video are below.
I did find the recall notice and I checked my serial number. The website says mine is not included in the recall.
Thoughts?
Shake to fire.
