One of my friend's dad got his whole family level 4 (that's the kind that can stop high powered rifle rounds right?) for Christmas.

Level IV is very serious and heavy armor.

Then that's probably what he got them. He's one of those kind of guys who has to use a reinforced shipping container for a gun safe.

Does filling all of the voids in the doors and body panels of your car with phone books count?

Ammo is too expensive, so armor is out of the question.

I've not really looked into any body armor, short of what's in the NRA magazine that comes in the mail.

Nope, never have had the things on, nor do I own any. If the SHTF I may consider getting some, but right now the cost I cannot deal with. I know, what is my life worth? To some not much!:D

Body armor? I fight crime in my area in tighty whities and shirtless, with dress socks and crocs on. The perps see my awesome chest pubes and run for the mountains. But seriously my area isnt bad enough for that, if it ever got bad enough to where i had to even consider body armor I would just move.
