I used a Dremel cutting wheel and then a smoother grinding wheel to take the edges off. I wasn't concerned about making it pretty, just more functional.
FYI, I've never had a gun related issue with decent ammo.
Like others used a drummel, which now my S&W 637 is just got a nub instead of the spur. I'mm going to try it like this until I decide to take it flush with the frame.
