I have a Raging Bull .44 with 6 1/2 inch barrel. I'm going on a boar hunt in October and was wondering what bullet type is best for boars. Any info would be appreciated. By the way, I don't reload so I will buying factory loads.

www.garrettcartridges.com of HammerHead fame series of .44 maggy cartridges and www.buffalobore.com/ammunition/default.htm all have what you are looking for in hog medicine.

Then, there may be cheaper alternatives. These cartidges however are the standard that others are compared to. I'll let the real hog hunters and such take over from here. :)

Get something with a hard cast flat point, truncated cone or SWC, bullet in 300 or more grains and loaded hot. You'll be in business. For really BIG hogs, this will penetrate the gristle plate and do the job.
