Taurus blue finish is not prone to rust however it needs some more maintenance than other manufacturers' slide treatments (i.e., Tennifer and Melonite) Keep a silicone cloth handy and give it a nice wipe down every few days. You'll be fine.
Blue/Black Slide Duribility
I recently bought a PT 745 with the Blue/Black slide only because that's all the gunshop had and the owner said the PT745 stainless slide models were hard to come by and he didn't know when or if he could get one.
My question: Are the Taurus Blue/Black slides durable enough for every day carry. Are they prone to rust? How about holster wear?
I would have rather had the SS slide but the blue one has grown on me and I can live with it.
