I bought my Rossi during the Black Friday a couple years ago, I have about 150 rounds through it mostly 357's. took it too the range last Friday and the hammer would only go back half way after a couple shots. Is it time to call Rossi? In working order how much is it worth? Once it's fixed I'm going to sell or trade for something better.

Have you tried taking the grips off and cleaning everything really good. It is possible that the shipping grease may have hardened or some manufacturing debris is preventing proper operation. Also does it do this in both SA and DA mode?

Do you shoot a lot of lead bullets? If so did you clean the chambers and forcing cone (the throat of the barrel) from lead and carbon deposits? Lead deposits can form and create cylinder drag between the forcing cone and cylinder. Lead/carbon buildup in the cylinder chambers can cause case setback with the cartridge rims dragging between the cylinder and the frame.

And if you shoot .38's through it you must clean the chambers very well or you will have issues when running the longer .357 cases as stated above.

Had the same issue with mine after firing sd 357 rounds. After freeing up the cylinder, hammer eould not go fully to the rear. Upon opening side plate I discovered two springs all bent to jell and dislodged. Srnt it back to taurus for repair and am eaiting for it to be returned. As of today they still have not began working on it. When I do get it back I have decided to sell it anf probably go with a s&w 686. Ashame too. I really love the fit and feel of the rossi. But I wouldn't feel comfortable trusting my life on it to function properly if needed.
