Subject: Major earhtquake in Eastern Canada

Most folks don't know that there was a major earthquake in eastern Canada a couple hundred years ago. It was so severe, in fact, that the area which we now call Labrador and Newfoundland actually split away from the mainland and floated off into the Atlantic.

But of course, nowadays Labrador is right back where it belongs, snug against the mainland with nary a crack to be seen, while Newfoundland remains an island province. How could that be, you wonder? Well, you see, one of the early French settlers in that region happened to raise several.....

...you may have guessed it....

...he owned several (excellent and hearty, I might add)...

...Labrador retrievers.
