WASR10/63 - Romanian AKM - WASR 10/63

The WASR10 is your basic early AKM made in the USA by Century (CAI) with a mix of Romanian and USA sourced parts compliant with BATFE 922r.

AMD-65 - Hungarian PDW - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMD_65

The AMD-65 is a shortened Hungarian style AKM Personal Defense Weapon (PDW).

Both were chambered for the Russian 7.62x39mm Cartridge.
so are the internals the interchangeable between an AMD and a WASR/AKM?

Assuming they are both built on a standard AKM frame, and they are, Yes.
Should be, yes.
I think the gas tube on the AMD is somewhat shorter. The barrel length is 14 inches, with a muzzle brake welded on to make it, a legal, 16.1 inches.
The Saigas do that welded barrel bit as well I noticed. Guess I am lucky my WASR has a threaded barrel :)
Well a dremmel to that little weld bead and almost all are threaded =)
