I've tried to carry the 617 in the past OWB but it is just a little to large for that. I have been carrying the 605 for several years but recently decided to give the 617 another chance IWB.
That works for me pretty well. Seems to be quite comfortable and those extra 2 rounds appeal to me.
I'm going to give it a good try.
Well I really like the look of the wood grips I had on this 617 but it was not comfortable to carry so I tried the Taurus ribbed grip like the one that came on my model 455 as in this picture. I was quite surprised at how well it carries in the IWB holster.
It lays against my side with gouging. It is really a very easy comfortable gun to carry with these grips and I think I will be carrying it for some time to come.
The more I carry it the better I like it.
