Has anyone ordered ammo from Atlantic Tactical (atlantictactical.com)? The seem to have it in stock at very good prices.

This morning I ordered 10 boxes of Winchester 9mm 124g FMJ at $12.95/box plus a $1.00/box ammo fee (???). Let's see how this works out....

Not yet, I got an email order confirmation and it hit the bank account already, current status is still listed as "pending". They didn't have an "Out of Stock" message on their website but I don't know. I am skeptical.

Their website was really well put together; didn't look anything like a scam site. If I hadn't paid my property taxes today I would've order too.

Here is what makes me take pause -

"Due to the overwhelming and unprecedented demand for firearms, we are currently experiencing very low stock levels on firearms and firearm accessories.
While we do have significant, standing orders with our vendors, we unfortunately don't know exactly when we will receive them. The manufacturers are unable to provide us with delivery estimates due to the sheer volume of sales across the country.

Please be aware that if you place an order, your credit card will be charged and your order may be placed into a Back Order status. At this time we do not have any solid ETAs on weapon availability; however, orders for firearms and firearm accessories will ship in a first come, first served basis."

With nothing showing out of stock makes me wonder if they have it or whether it will automatically rollover to Back Order status.

It'll be interesting to watch how this plays out, please keep us updated and good luck.

Update: Still showed "pending" on the status page this morning so I just called them. As expected, "backordered with no estimated shipping date from vendor". I told them they need to get their act together and post in stock or out of stock on their individual items like most companies do. Was told "we have a disclaimer...", thats when I cut him off and told him I was aware of their disclaimer and that it was a way for them to get my money and backorder my stuff without carrying inventory. I wasn't a happy customer. Cancelled order, now let's see how long it takes to get my money back. I won't do business with them again...

Looks like a scam. They take your money and you don't think you just got screwed because you are promised to receive the item when they get it; which could be never.

Maybe, however I think it's more of a shady way to finance the business. They take in all the money and then place the orders without having to borrow working capital. A friend of my son ordered from them a couple of days ago (only 2 boxes) and they did ship it out the same day and she has a tracking # for it. So, I don' think it a "scam" actually, just poor business practice. I'll post an update in a few days if and when I get my money back.

I agree. Glad you were able to cancel the order, of course you've got the power of the CC company to contest the charge too, if you don't see your money in a reasonable time frame.

Update: checked the bank this morning and I got my full refund from Atlantic Tactical credited to my account today. The only real downside for me was that they don't post inventory status on individual items on their website. Other than that, they appeared to be easy to deal with.

I can understand where you are coming from but a lot of people are doing this. I ordered an AR barrel from a company that had the barrel listed as in stock and if you could put it in your cart, it was in stock. A month and a half later after several emails and many unanswered called, I got in touch with a rep. He told me that their supplier ran into problems manufacturing the barrels and basically had to start another production run. The guy told me they do this a lot, posting in stock when their contractors start a production run, just catching up with them now. So since they had already withdrawn the money the day I placed my order, I just waited them out. Many shady but more than likely legal things going on

Keep this thread going. I just ordered a M&P Shield which was apparently in stock... Got a confirmation but after reading some of these I'm skeptical. Would love to hear from someone who actually got a hand gun they ordered... I'm a little worried.
