HOW TO SCORE:
Post a picture (or scan) of the target you want to submit with the measurement below - use calipers, a ruler or use the FREE version of "On Target"
Download here (a great tool) >>>>http://www.ontargetshooting.com/download1.html<<<<

  1. Post the size measurement of the 5 shot group.
  2. Post the far shot flyer distance from center of the target.
  3. Add the two numbers together - this number is your total SCORE.

Measure all shots from center-to-center of the holes.

ALSO: Post the model and caliber of the handgun and ammo used (WITH an image please).

:icon_question: Questions: PM me OR refer to past month's results.

CLASS WINNERS will be posted ASAP for each class with ALL competitors’ scores also listed in descending order.

DEADLINE: All entries must be shot by midnight Sunday, April 30 and posted here by Midnight, April 30!

  • Obviously being the internet, this is an "honor system" competition for fun. Shot group measurements on the target whether by ruler, calipers, or software is required as is the measurement of the farthest shot from center.
  • Post photos of the gun(s) used in the shootout. Range photos are appreciated (not required) for fun and local color!
  • PLEASE post gun, ammo and score info below the target image - that is a HUGE time saver when scoring the challenge! THANKS!

IDEALLY scoring looks like this:

Cat #1
S&W WHizBang - 4.5" barrel
SightCo red dot 1x sight
CCI 22 LR 40 gr LRN
Group 1.234"
Far shot .567"
SCORE 1.801

We gotta see the targets AND the guns! ;)

I need to practice with this firearm more, I think it could be a good target shooter for me if I'd just try a little harder, lol. I actually took it to the range today to decide whether or not I'd get rid of it. Looks like I'll be keeping it.

Category #3

G34 Gen 4
Xtreme RN 124/Titegroup
Group: 1.067"
Far: .786"

Except what gun has a barrel that measures exactly 3"? Seems too arbitrary and unrealistic to me.

I'd like for my PT709 with its 3.28" barrel to be in the 2A category. Just sayin'

Since I'm dealing with a bulging disk in my neck, I decided to do the challenge twice: once with each hand. Now, if you had told me that the Titan II .22LR I recently bought was a tack driver, I would have said, "Sure..if you turn it upside down and use the butt end as a hammer. For one thing, it's hard enough having to rely on ESP to find the POA since the sights are non-existent. However, I changed all that after a visit to Wally World to buy the cheapest nail polish I could find and paint some sights on the limited space available. I'll be posting some photos of what I wound up with in the Lounge under the topic, "Nail-ed it!"

Without further ado-do, here are the results I got using my incredibly expensive sighting system:
