Anybody live near Miami and have some time available on February 13th?

The Summary Status Conference that was scheduled for 1/17/18 was rescheduled to February 13th. Even if you don't own a Class Pistol under the Carter v. Forjas Taurus, et al. class action lawsuit, the meeting is open to the public. It would be nice if a Forum member could be in attendance.

Report back what really happened because based on my chat with the judge's clerk, there will be no public summary released after the meeting.

If by chance there is a possibility for those in attendance to address the court, I'd suggest they share real life examples of how Taurus' Customer Service treated Forum Class Members.

In my letter to the judge I asked that those owners of 45 caliber Class Pistols be given the OPTION to pay the actual cost difference between the pistol they intend to send (I'm guessing a PT140 G2) and their PT1911. In this way I'll get a 45 acp for a 45 acp and not be injured by incurring additional costs for a caliber I didn't choose.
Fair enough, but unfortunately I don't believe Taurus is the group handing this lower caliber out by their
choosing, I could be wrong, but they have to keep sales going to try and float above the rising waters
that are being sloshed at them. I do agree that they should give the option, but until the dust is cleared I
don't see this happening....................

Hey, I'm pulling for the "Bull." But if I am willing to pay the actual cost difference between a PT1911 and a PT140 G2, Taurus is not out one stinkin' nickel more than if they send me a pistol I don't want.
There is a slight possibility I could attend. A day off work, $40 in transportation (fuel, tolls, parking, and train ride into downtown) and no guarantee the meeting won't get changed again. Makes for an expensive day. I would like to know what takes place. I'll think about going.

Wait, court has a dress code, I would have to buy a pair of pants as shorts are not appropriate attire. :bang:

There's a Goodwill store not far from me. Tell me your waist and inseam measurements and I'll send you something that'll get you past the bailiff. Did you see "My Cousin Vinny"?

Maybe, if you go, you could print out this topic from our "Taurus Product Problems" and ask that it be included in the Status Conference.

"Settlement guns- post only when sent and edit your post when a return is received"

Anyone who has not posted their experience here, should do so quickly.
Now that the deal's been done, I doubt that the court would make any changes in the Status Conference. It's easier to take your PT111G2, sell it for two hundred bucks, and apply that cash to the pistol you want. Said pistol need not be a Taurus product:eek:, but I would consider a PT1911.:)

You are making a lot of assumptions above... like you will be able to sell your replacement gun (G2) for $200... in a market flooded with NEW budget guns for similar or less money.

About a year ago I took my like-new Stainless Steel PT145 Mil Pro to the LGS because like everyone else I needed one of those "military contract winning" Sigs. They said the best they'd do is $100 for the PT145. While trying to see through my blurry poked eye and my sphincter still spasming I stumbled for the door. Your new replacement pistol will still be a "used" pistol because the paperwork will show you are a previous owner. An LGS will have to price your pistol substantially below a brand spanking new one. I'm thinking it's actually worth less than $100. That's why I'm willing to pay a few bucks to get that PT1911.

I just looked at the prices of a PT1911 and a PT140 G2 SS on "Buds Gun Shop." Assuming margins are about the same, the cost difference should be $275. I'd send Taurus a check for that amount if they send me a PT1911.

Every time I try to follow through to the vendor for all those great deals, they're out of stock. Most real prices I've seen on in-stock G2s are just above $200.

A dealer will offer half of what he thinks he can get for any firearm, at most. Take the dealer's offer and multiply by two. That's the price you can expect to get from a private individual. Take it to a gun show or advertise it somewhere, but NEVER accept an offer from a dealer.

I sincerely hope that Taurus accepts your offer. Good luck!

Hmmm... guess I'm just super lucky then? No worries, you can always post the G2 on back page where people pay crazy prices for pistols they could buy cheaper at the LGS. I always assumed it was some irrational fear of LGS or form 4473???

Maybe. Bud's is advertising the plain black PT111G2 for $226 cash, $232.78 if you use your credit card. Bud's doesn't quote prices on items not in stock.

I paid a total of $232 for my first PT111G2 a while back. That was $199.99 from Palmetto State Armory, $17 shipping, and a $15 FFL fee. Bought my second one from a buddy who had put only 50 rounds through it for $200. It came with three mags, so I thought that was a good deal. I'll see what I can get for my third PT111G2 whenever Taurus gets around to sending it. I'm not sure there'll be a glut because I keep seeing people on this forum unaware of the recall at this late date, but who knows?
