I'm liking my 809; but I'd love to be able to lighten the DA trigger pull from the stock 8lbs or so.

Would having say a gunsmith remove blueing/paint and then polish the trigger parts/assembly?

You might get a slight lightening by polishing trigger and hammer bearing surfaces as well as the hammer strut. But, being a hammer fired gun a good part of the double action weight of pull has to do with the weight of your trigger and hammer springs. Lightening the hammer spring would reduce the weight of pull but might also result in inconsistent ignition. I am not sure if anyone makes aftermarket springs for the 800 series pistols. Maybe someone else will chime in.
