Anybody who owns this gun knows it is impossible to find mags for it. the only place I can find them is on Ebay for outrageous prices. I saw one lucky SOB selling 2 of them for $235 with 11 bids on it earlier this evening and a single for $70. I almost want to sell my only mag for this gun.

I was wondering if anyone has had any luck ordering accessories direct from Taurus?

Well first off to pay that kind of money is beyond absurd!

I feel fortunate to have 3 of them which I bought quite a long time ago. Yes people have ordered them from Taurus but they are on back order. I have read of some folks finding them in certain big box gun stores. Also have you hit all of the gun shops in your area?

A few months ago I found some at a LGS and picked them up for an out of state TA.net member. Fishingkeylargo has looked at the local gun show. I haven't been to the local gun show for a long time but I will go to the next one to see if I can find any there.

Good luck!

I think they are all in NY state - 7 rounds, see what I'm sayin'?! :)

I saw one go for $50 something on eBay recently fwiw.

nope - the $250+ pair is not done yet - 11 bids -13 hours to go AND a crappy picture. I'm ill.

That is just crazy. I'm still watching for them, have not seen any recently.

I've been looking around for them too (particularly the might-as-well-be-big-foot extended mag) and haven't found anything reasonable. My Dad's checking for me in NC, I'll post if I find anything!

It is irresponsible of Taurus and Browning to bring out a firearm and not see that a supply of magazines is available. Been hunting 709 and browning 1911-22ca. mags. for months. No after market available either. Won't buy another Taurus until they correct this. Love the four I have but Ruger doesn't have this problem nor does S&W.

Can't say that S&W is all that stellar re M&P, Sigma or SDxxVE large capacity mags or for my M&P40C w/pinky ext. Did get notice yesterday PT111MilPro 12rd mags are in at Natchez and Midway.

I believe there are Academy Sports stores in Central Florid (I think I remember seeing at least one last time I was in Orlando, maybe?). I have seen them at the ones near me. If they don't have them the store might be able to transfer them from another store. I bought magazines for my PT 740 (Same as the 709, just in .40 S&W) recently, I think they were around $30 if I remember.

The 709 has been out for a few years now and magazines have been readily availible right before the November elections and Sandy Hook tragedies. Not sure if you noticed, but popular ammo is also hard to come by these days. It is not Taurus's fault or ammo manufactures for this. The 709 is a popular pistol and the recent above mentioned events have increased the sales of the 709. Taurus also recently initiated a selling program called the FS series where they sell a gun with a different packaging, in this case the FS series comes with one magazine and a cardboard box. It makes the gun more affordable as they sell it for a lower price. This is good for consumers, but they soon realize they want another magazine. Same as ammo, supply will catch up to demand, but I suspect the ammo supply will catch up to demand long before the 709 magazines catch up.

I just checked with Taurus International in Miami, FL just a couple of days ago. The 709 mags are still on backorder. Expected in 6 to 8 weeks (into Sept 2013),. :(

Check out midwayusa.com because I got one from there two weeks ago. They wouldn't let you order more than one and when I tried later they were out of stock and no back orders. I got it for $40 with shipping. I am still waiting for my order from taurus since January.
