Well done. Exactly the interaction your fellow citizens (sane ones at least) support when discussing 2A issues with someone unfamiliar with our culture and gun laws.. No need to preach or propagandize, just answer their questions politely and with a well thought out train of thought. Explain the gun ownership point of view and why Americans treasure their Constitutional rights especially when it comes to the 2A. Good job. And you probably have gained a customer down the line.
I constantly hear people from up north and the west coast telling us here in the south what we are doing all wrong and how we could change this and that like it was at their old home state.
wonder why they move here if they liked the old home so well?
I get that sometimes here in Texas when I tell people I'm from California. They say "Why would you EVER leave California? It's SO nice and beautiful there!!" I look at them with some amount of compassion and simply accept the fact that they are so stupid they don't know how stupid they are. I've got 2 years to retirement and the plan is to move closer to the relatives in Knoxville. This is one Californian who will miss Texas, but NOT California!
My wife and I lived in SF one block north of Van Ness on Franklin. Right in the heart of the city. Wanna' know what it's like being a Conservative in a so-called tolerant liberal town? I was screamed at, threatened, and faced with outright violent hostility for even attempting to put forth a Conservative view. SF is the MOST FASCIST and INTOLERANT city I have ever lived. Was very happy to get out of that Nazi-like despotic town as soon as I could.
God's truth. We get a little ice or snow here and people freak out! I once drove to work when we had about 2" of snow the previous night. Got to work and no one was there except of few guys with AWD vehicles (including me, I will admit.) I asked where everybody was. The response? "Well have you seen the weather!? Everyone is taking a 'snow day'! Snow day!?? For less that 2" of rapidly melting slush?? I grew up in LA and know how to drive better in the stuff than most of DFW commuters.
