how many rounds do you keep on hand per gun, per caliber? for example, i own 2 45 acp pistols, and i keep about 500 rounds on hand. this can be applied to both rifle and pistol, i am basically curious what other people consider enough, also for those that reload, do you keep components on hand in bulk or not?

Hmmm! my average is somewhere around 550 rounds per gun.

Just now I have 1250 9mm, 600 22LR, and 300 45 colt. 2150 divide by 4, hmmm I would have thought it was more than that. oh shoot forgot the 22mag's that is about 150 more. so I am still right.

I did not count my son's supply, as his runs into the 1000's per caliber including 308, and SKS rounds.

I have more than 1K for each caliber, with the exception of 500 Magnum ammo. In .357 Magnum, it barely exceeds that figure at the moment. For some of my other calibers, it far exceeds 1K.

I keep both magazines full or a chamber and enough to reload, For my ak just enough for 1 mag. I figure if I run out of ammo just grab another gun. After all the guns are outta ammo then start throwing the guns themselves.

Man, I wish I could afford 1,000 rounds of .045. I try to keep a minimum of 200 rounds on hand for hand guns and 100 rounds each for rifles.

Since I moved to the city I haven't been keeping as much on hand. About 300 rounds of .380, 200 each of 9mm, .38+P and .357 all GD HPs, 1k .22 LR, 100 .22 mag, 1 box each of .45 auto and .44 mag (for the rifle), and a box or 2 of 12ga bird load and enough 00 buck for 3 fills. I do intend to start handloading in the near future and then will likely keep enough supplies on hand to reload around 1k of each except the shotgun, which I will just keep a couple of boxes. Also keep a couple dozen arrows for my bow.

I would like to have more around, usually have 50-100 for my .357.
My rifles are .22 so that is easy to keep ammo for...
I generally try to keep a box of every caliber and it gets put up and not touched.. :D...

I try to keep a few hundred rounds of each caliber on hand. At the rate gun ranges are outlawing outside ammo, I don't want to get stuck.

Anywhere from 100 to 2500 rounds, depending on how well I'm keeping up with my reloading. Sometimes I shoot 'em almost as fast as I make 'em. You can't have enough ammo. :shooter:

I'm down to about 300 each in .45 acp and 9mm, and only about 50 in .223. :-[

About 600 in .40, 150 in 9x18 MAK, 300 in .38, 500 in .380, 1500 in .22LR, 300 in various shot sizes of 12ga and 100 or so 12ga slug.

Hmmm... it's a pretty day and WallyWorld (read WWB) is on the way home from the shooting range.
