Looked over the reviews on YouTube and they all seemed to be very favorable. Asked in one of the sub forums if anyone could tell me the difference between the 809 and TH9 but got no response.

Will give it a good cleaning and head to the range with it tomorrow.

Only drawback, so far, is that it's so new that no one makes a Holster for it yet.

Congrats on your purchase of a new generation Taurus, Ed. I'll be looking forward to a range report. I'm sure it'll be a great gun. I also don't know how it differs from the 809, but if it's anything like my PT 809, you've got yourself a keeper.

From what I can see there's some cosmetic differences. The biggest difference is the lack of a lifetime warranty...................

I was of the understanding that the difference was that the TH does not have the Taurus Keyed Security System and or the Lifetime warranty.

I see no reason that a holster for the PT809 could not to be used with the TH-9.

Did your TH-9 come with a cable padlock and key?

Congratulations on the new Taurus!!!!

Ed, I'll be looking forward to your range report. Enjoy that new Taurus.

My brother has a PT908 but I haven't shot it yet.

The warranty is only 1 year.

It does not have the Taurus Security system and the warranty is but one year.

The only size difference I can find in the specs is the TH-9 is 4mm wider in the grip. So, I ordered a holster made for the 809. will post about how well it works.

Yes, it did come with the cable padlock and key.

Hopefully, I'll get to the range either tomorrow or Monday and give it a work out. Will post the results of that.

Congrats on the new pistol. I saw your earlier post. I imagine the lack of responses is because the gun is so new and folks have not had a change to compare them. It's great that it doesn't have the internal lock system. Beyond that I think the main difference is cosmetic, primarily making the grip pattern look like the 111G2.
