Academy deal on Curve - $199.99 as of 8/28/18

Sadly right now it is a 'buy in store' event - https://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/taurus-curve-380-acp-semiautomatic-pistol#repChildCatid=3104239 - check to see if your store has it.

I saw this on the website the other night and out of curiosity, I decided to order it online for $199.99 + handling + tax (put it around $225) because it said it was the L model ('older' laser/light designation) - they have the non-laser model listed for $349.99, so I was wondering if there might be a cross-up on the website. I got the call today and went to pick it up.

Bad news - they did not send me the L model that they had advertised
Good news - they sent the newer V model (Viridian) instead

I wonder if they meant to clear out old store inventory of the L model first but perhaps someone forgot to set that priority (i.e. In store only) so that the first few lucky people (me included) got the newer V inventory instead. Just a theory... Anyways, it looks like it will make a nice little pocket piece - I will have to see how it does at the range.

Congrats on the purchase. I just got the same deal from a local retailer with the Laserlyte / LED combination. Haven't tried it yet but, I'm hopeful. Have a couple other Taurus with no complaints.
I imgine that Curve sales have hit the skids severely since the newest super duper cool kid Spectrum has hit the market.
wouldn't surprise me to see the Curve discontinued before long.

Any range report yet?
I just was looking at this in the academy. How many people love this gun? At 200$ it's hard to pass up. I just bought a s&w bodyguard with laser though and already have a Taurus TCP. I want to buy this curve but not sure if I should.
I went to Academy to buy some boxes of .40 for my PT840. I was looking for a small conceal for a while. Being I live in the deep South, shorts are a year round thing. Fits nicely but rides low. I found the same deal at Academy on the Curve for $199. With Christmas money and gift cards, my out of pocket was $116. Pretty good price. I got home, cleaned and oiled it and shot around 36 rounds through it. I had a few FTF for light strikes and also the trigger reset (probably me IDK) where the trigger was completely dead until I cycled. I am hoping these are break-in issues and not a common theme. I need to run a few more rounds through it before I call Taurus. I've never had any issues with my 840, so I chose the Taurus over the SCCY and Ruger I looked at.

I should have researched more. They are discontinued on the Taurus website. Hence the major markdown. Hmmm.
Yeah, usually when you see them for sale everywhere it's on it's way out. Word of advice: BUY EXTRA MAGAZINES NOW!!!!!!!!!

well actually they been around now for like 3 years or so---that's at least 2 years longer than normal life span of production on most Semi Taurus.
one of the reasons no aftermarket manufacture make magazines, parts etc.

OH YEA!!!
Plenty of mags and any other parts that you can get now---IF you plan on keeping the gun that is.
