Just found this site and all the info. I've done some searching about the 92 and like what I hear so far. I sure would appreciate some more input on this great looking pistol. Really would like honest opions about it. I have a S&W M&P 40 in the arsenal already and wanted a 9 to go with it. Really did not want another polymer piece and the dealer up the street has the 92 in brushed stainless. Very nice looking, but will the finish hold up to range use and general handling? Thanks and hope to hear lots of good things (or bad) from the great members here.

Oh man, homework already? Thanks for the hints. Didn't know about any other Taurus Boards. Done the searching here, just wanted to get some feedback and questions to help me make the decision. Maybe some questions I had not thought of will be brought out by some one asking.
Again, great site and thanks.

No more about to it! I made the short trip up to my local shop and made the purchase. Should be all ready for me next Tuesday. I'm already planning a day at the range to test it out. Very happy with the shop and the gun. Looking forward to learning as much as possible. First Wednesday of each month the shop holds a CCW class, and I'm all signed up. 'Bout time, right? Can always learn something new and refresh old good habits. Thanks for all of the information and interest. More as it develops.

You are so correct in cleaning, lubing and then getting familair with that particular weapon. Those were the items on my agenda. The class is not for about 2 weeks after I get the gun so I will have plenty of time to get familiar with it and how it shoots and functions. Cleaning will be the first order of business absolutely.
Thanks for the links on extra magazines. I will probably be on the lookout for a couple extra very shortly. The PT comes with 2, but an extra or 2 is always handy.
Since my 'other' gun is a .40, I am looking forward to shooting this gun in 9mm. I'm going to take them both to the range and shoot several mags full each.
From what I hear, the CCW range requirements are more geared toward can you handle the weapon rather than shooting a XX% at x distance. The class for the CCW should be helpful in that repect. I'm going into the class with the attitude of learning all that they can teach me, rather than been there, done that.
Really looking forward to this gun and learning its ins and outs.

Thanks again for all of the feedback and information. Great site and members.

BTW, I do plan on enjoying this gun.

Well, I pick up the new gun tomorrow and bring it home for cleaning and inspection. Then off to the range to check it out! I'll report back tomorrow after range time and let all know what I think.
