Been doing research and it says in the manual dry firing is bad but Taurus' website says all of their guns can be. What I want to ask is after I disassemble/reassemble I usually dry fire once or twice to check and make sure the pistol is back together properly. Is this okay?

There's no way that will hurt it. If you do it a lot, say dozens of times on a regular basis, I'd suggest snap caps, but what you describe won't be a problem.

Dry firing is a great way to learn your trigger. I see no reason not to.
