Was at the Academy in Victoria, Texas today and noticed that the 462 stainless I'd looked at not too long ago for $320 was down to $289 and the 461 was running $245. Now, I ain't complainin', but it's nice to see the price on something DROP for a change. My son-in-law wants to buy his SP101 back from me and I'm thinkin' about the Rossi, though truth be told, my 3" M66 Taurus is about as easy to tote as the SP101. But, it's tempting.

LOL, yeah, that SP101 is sweet. They had another gun at Academy I was drooling over, a .44 mag tracker, but blue. It was under 400 bucks. I'd rather have a stainless one and I'd rather have it in .41 mag, though. I just want a .41 for my next caliber addition, never really got into .44 and, besides, my .45 Colt Blackhawk can do anything a .44 can. The .41 just appeals to me, guess it's the somewhat cult thing going on with .41. Everyone has a .44.

If I sell the SP101 back to him, I really don't need to replace it. The 3" 66 carries about as easily and shoots great. I'll just miss that little chunk-o-stainless. It's a good shootin', strong little gun.

can you do anything about getting the gas prices to drop too?
I'm afraid my solution to that is my motorcycles. Thank GOD I don't have to commute or something. Only buy gas when I HAVE too. LOL

I've had 7 Rossis and all the old Interarms guns. They're a lot better finished since Taurus bought 'em. Some of my older guns had a lot of tooling marks not buffed out, but they all worked pretty well. The DA trigger on most of 'em will be a little stiff, but smooths out with use. They are accurate. Rossi uses a classic Smith and Wesson hammer block action with the firing pin on the hammer. The one problem I ever had with a Rossi was snapping the firing pin on a 971. I got a gunsmith to fit a new one and didn't have a problem with it after that.

I won't be getting the Rossi 461 for now, shot my gun money on a Ruger Mk 2 today at a gun show, but that's okay, I like that Ruger. :D
