For their listing of $34.95... this may be the best avenue we have seen for this problem... here is their weblink... http://www.wilsoncombat.com/a_sights_ne.asp

PLEASE keep us posted on your range reports. And any observations from your gunsmith about installing them... a lot of guys will be interested in doing a "self-install" and will be looking from "how to" tips. AND take good pictures of your gun to post here!

PS... this is not an attempt to "steal work" from local gunsmiths, but many of us have no local smith to work on guns and it is either a "do it yourself" or an expensive trip to an unknown smith out of town.

I talked to their service department at Wilson Combat. Their sights will work with some fitting. Their front sight is .300 which is the same as the Taurus. Their rear sight is .330 but the Taurus rear dovetail is .370 so it would require some shimming. Both list a set screw (front and rear) so with some careful fitting you should be able to set the sights firmly. Don't know about how the height will affect. The Wilson sights are designed for the 1911 dovetail.

The guy from Wilson did say that the Taurus sights are a "Novak cut" so the new Novak adjustable sight may be right on... Keep you all posted on what you discover!

I have split this topic at this point and entitled it "Installing the Wilson Combat Sights" since it will be important for people to find your information on installing these sights easily. Please continue to support that topic.
