Nothing like a good day at the range!

now about that ammo... let us know where you find some. :)
Glad to hear the initial voyage was flawless, now keeping up with the ammo is probably a challenge, where I live the shelves are bare or are so expensive you do not want to soot them. One of my LGS is rationing to 2 boxes per person mix or match calibers. They had some Magtec 45 ACP $45 for a box of fifty and UMC 9mm for $2 for a bix of 50.
A bad day at the range is better than a good day at work. A good day at the range is priceless. Glad you had a good day.

The PT709 is a great compact firearm. The pinky extension just adds to the shoot-ability in my eyes. I'm almost preferring the 709 over the PT1911. It is capable of hitting beercans at upwards of 50 yards (I'm averaging about 2 hits per mag at that range) without using a rest. The problem I have with the PT709 is the more you shoot it, the better you like it. This means you'll want to shoot it even more. It's a viscious cycle. I'm glad I started reloading 9mm as cost of shooting would kill me after weekend replentishments.

great shooting with that Slim, it makes me want to get better
nicely done, and congratulations for listening to the wiser 709 owners, instead of the anti Taurus snobs out there, you have a fine weapon. I have tried the extensions on mine but started to put to much pressure with my pinkie and got some malfunctions, with out the extension it operates flawlessly, just shooter error. I like shooting mine with out since I carry without the extensions to help prevent printing anyway. Those that are reloading 9mm. Have you found any home grown rounds that the 709 does not like? Since the current state of madness I have started to reload for 9mm also ( if I can find primers ).
Finally found some good priced ammo and went back to the range today.100 more rounds through it perfectly.this time though my wife went with me for the first time and I might loose my new 709 .i was planning on getting her a 380 but she liked the 709 and thinks I should just give it to her and get me something else.now I thing I will get a glock 19 for me and let her have it .then get me another 709 down the road and just shoot hers for now.

Congrats! It appears that you've picked a real winner in the PT709. :D

My PT740 has never missed a lick, either! :)
Congrats on the new 709!
