Finally molded this thing. It is a flapjack holster.

As you can see it rides high and close to the body. I don't know how often I will actually carry this gun.

Does you current belt hold the weight of your 1911? or do you plan to get another belt?

I have been looking at the 5.11 belts and the dedicated leather belts from the don hume. Lots of choices, but I think in the long run it will be worth it.

1.5 " double stiched and for the bigger guns reenforecment in between the layers Don Hume makes quality belts as do a lot of holster makers
