So I escaped from Khalifornistan after discharging from the military - And decided I would buy a Judge when we got settled in Texas.

Lurked here on the Judge threads - Trying to figure out which one might work the best.

Had a 3" Magnum model all picked out - Then ran acrossed one of the 7 shot Raging Judge UltraLites on GunBroker.

Set a reminder for the end of the auction - Which unfortunately for my wallet was set to end during my third bourbon of the night.

Only two bidders - Me and some other idiot who wanted this thing - And he won.

He outbid my Bookers induced max bid of $1500.

I logged back in to see if I had won - And got the bad news.

So I did another search and found one "as new" in the 6.5" on GunsAmerican from a fellow cheesehead for only $750 !!

Pick it up tomorrow - Stay tuned for a range report.

Looks like I can add a 3" Magnum anyway - And still be waaaaaaaay under budget.

Carry on.......

Sounds like you got a good deal - and hopefully learned that drinking and auctions are a bad mix ;)

But there's so many great deals out there when you're drinking.

Congratulations on the Judge - and on getting off the left coast!

Alcohol and gunbroker must be mixed with caution.

Welcome to the best forum on the web. I have owned several Judges, but never tried the Raging Judge. I guarantee you will have way too much fun. Give us a range report when you have a chance.

I couldnt hit crap at first - Those guys were banging it out...

Just so you know, Sarge, what a travesty that bottom pic I posted truly is, that butchered monstrosity started life as a Shiloh Sharps in .50-140.

About the only things salvageable on the whole thing are the action and the fore end (which are also the only things they left alone).

The heavy contour octagonal barrel (looks to have been 1" across the flats originally) looks like a chair maker's lathe experiment- where the flats haven't been fluted, the butt stock as a very bad bas relief carving of muskoxen (?) on one side and an even worse caribou on the other that they colored in just so you can see every gory detail- not to mention the poorly fitted 1" recoil pad.

The Tasco 3x9x40 with the bikini cover is just icing on the cake. They did at least use the "fancy" rings- the ones with the machine done 'scroll work' on the sides. After all, it was- once- about a $3000 custom rifle that somebody waited about 2 years to get.
Funny you mentioned butchering up a firearm -

Because I was just thinking of taking a Circuit Judge Tactical -

Cutting it down to a 10.5" barrel and swapping out the plastic stock for a grip.

Kinda making my own "Ruger Blackhawk Style" .410 sidearm.

Let me finish what's left of this Johnnie Black and I'll get back to you Sir.....

HOOAH SIR !!

Feels great to be back in a free state again.

Only took about ten minutes to pick up the Judge -

Compared to over an hour and then waiting ten days in that other state...
