Woo Hoo...The M92 Is In The House!

It won't win any beauty contests, as it is more of a utilitarian tool. Not that there are any blemishes or bad fitting of the furniture, it's a plain Jane designed to do a job and it does it well. I expected issues with cycling and feeding and got none. It fed my 38 Special reloads in 124 grain SJHP and 158 PFN and my .357 Magnum handloads with the 158 PFN. I was surprised at the light recoil in both loadings. I really need to get a chrono and a place to set it up. The first part isn't tough...the second almost impossible shooting at public ranges.

The target with the groups closer to center are the initial rounds at 45'. The target was moved back to the farthest point at 75' and those were running high. The buckhorn sights will take some getting used to. All in all I am very pleased with the purchase. This was straight out of the box (could they make those any cheaper?) with no...gasp...cleaning. I expect that it will get much smoother once I blast out the action and re-oil it.

I disagree Czech, I think there is a beauty in the simplicity of a lever action rifle. That's a beauty and that's a fact, congrats !

I feel a little like Ralphie...but there's no compass in the stock! In a way this is the replacement for my Ithaca Saddle gun that I got for Christmas in eighth grade.

Nice lever rifle! Have fun!!!!! I sure love mine. Healthy dose of 300 MP under 125 gr Montana Gold was traveling 2000 fps over my chrony. That should be able to put most North American game on the table, I wouldnt fear hunting with it here in the Ozarks.

You'll like it. My lone Taurus/Rossi 92 is a .357 as well. All the rest are JM marked Marlins. Currently the 92 gets shot more.

Nice pickup , You will get more precise after a few more range sessions. It takes a bit to break in the trigger and action. You'll be shooting quarters at 50 yards ( assuming you can see the quarter)

    Congrats on the lever gun!!
I too had trouble getting used to the buckhorn sights on my Golden Boy. So much so that I installeda set of fiber optic sights on it (both front & rear.)
Wow!!! What a difference! Super easy for my old eyes to see!
