Taurus 617: juist picked one up

I have a Smith & Wesson 686 2" snubbie which I really like. However I also wanted to have a more concealable sized revolver that would handle .357 Magnum. So I went to my LGS and found a used 617 Taurus (chambered for 7 rounds) at a fair price (I think). It looks like it was taken care of by previous owner and doesn't look like it had too many rounds through the pipe. At any rate, I could have bought a new 605 for $399 but liked the idea of having two more rounds at $300. Probably not the greatest deal but I'm satisfied. Now if this rainy cold weather would just go away for a few days I'll take it out to the range...

$300 dollars for a lightly-used, seven shot, Taurus .357 Magnum snubbie revolver? I'd say you came out smelling like a rose!

    Enjoy that beast!

    I love my 605.

You did really well getting the gun for $300. I've had a 617SS2 since 05/2003 and I love it; it's my daily carry gun. I have found it to be EXCEPTIONALLY ACCURATE with the following two loads..........
    • CCI® Blazer™ 357 Magnum 158gr JHP #3542
    • Fiocchi® 357 Magnum 158gr XTP® #357XTP

Sounds like a good deal to me, I paid $309 for my 2011 manufactured, lightly used 605...
