I used one on my .22 Heritage revolver and got the red dot sight real close. When I took it to the range, it was very close. Just a few tweeks and I was good to go. Hope this helps.

They usually work as well on handguns as they do on rifles and will at least get you on paper.

A bore scope and a bore sighting tool are two very different things with wide price differences, be careful what you ask for. A bore scope will not help you do what you want done.

    I use this type:

They usually come with interchangable tips for different calibers. I've never used it to sight in an optic on a revolver. I have used it to adjust a rail mounted laser on a semi-auto pistol. I've also used it on my rifles. It gets you on paper & close, but there is still some adjustment to make.

    Walmart sells that type.
