Does anyone here collect Taurus revolvers?

I was just wondering, I collect Ruger DA revolvers and look for variations, such as early "low back" Security Sixes and other models.

Does anyone here own, say several Taurus 82's because they wanted different variations? Such as the older ones with the serrated cylinder flutes, then the next update, then the ones that were more like S&W 10 copies, to the "modern" iteration that Taurus makes today? Or "rare" ones like the hi-polish stainless, etc.?

Or are most people here just shooters? I was just curious, I have seen little to no info on here about people looking for variations or rare Taurus models.

S&W collectors sort out guns with terms like "pre lock", "pre MIM", pinned and recessed, etc. I have never seen anyone talk about Taurus' like this, such as someone getting an early Model 80 with a "serrated trigger" and the "transitional lettering" on the barrel, like Ruger collectors do.
    Model 82 x 2 ,late 90's models DAO
    Model 80 ,1993 production
    Model 80 ,late 70's production
    Model M380, bought NIB
    Model 65, early 90's production

I don't see Taurus handguns as collectibles. They are very good shooters and fit that role well.

I'm with BUTT on this one. I have 7 Taurus® revolvers, I carry and shoot all of them. Additionally, if I'm still here on 25 July; I'm buying a Taurus® 44 Magnum with my first Social Security Check. Am I a "Collector"? Naw, I'm more of an "Accumulator". LOL!

i think there a couple around here, though maybe not as serious as Ruger and Smith collectors.

it's probably more like they buy somthing different when they see it, not so much searching for obscure variations.

I look upon myself as more of a refuge for homeless Taurus. I enjoy both newly born as well as pre-pleasured models. Am I a collector...NO, I could be a border line horder of the metal semi-auto pistols. Taurus offered me a nitch that I found, reasonably priced metal pistols that deliver when called upon to preform as expected. So, yes I may have three of the same model with only differences being finish and or with or without a rail, but I am not what I would call a collector....more an addict.

And as a follow up to the above post. I am not really addicted....I haven't purchased a new Taurus in almost 21 hours now!!! See I do this should be proof, that I am a person of Taurus restraint.

This comment brought an image to mind.....only I couldn't find a mason jar. So here is the best I could do for an old Texas redneck on short notice.

As a disclaimer, I do not condone the mixture of firearms and liquor. The bottle show as is the glass are filled with good ole H2O (water) for the purpose of the photo inspired by the comment left in an above post. The Taurus 1911SS is as it appears (a perfect firearm without question).
