OK... now I'm feeling stupid... I have been searching the net for the Pachmayer OTOH grip... finding nothing... is it ORTHO? Hogue had ORTHOs... I'm looking for a model/product ID I can tell my gunshop so they can order it for me... like I said, new to al of this! SW frame? small frame? My understanding is any "SW small frame grip" will fit... but they list as J or other... Thanks in advance

I have the Pachmayr Compac grips on my 605. The part number is 03396.They really feel wider and give a better grip. Look on Pachmayr.com to see if these are the ones you want.

Try this link Pachmayr&reg Pachmayr your primary source for quality handgun grips and recoil pads
Select Taurus, then Model 85 (small frame .38 special).

Have a 605 first time I used it got a blisetr on my thumb shooting .357 240 gr.. I was told that a 110gram .357 has less recoil and easier on the hand. Am also thinking about a switich to Pachmayer grip in hopes of giving my shooting hand a break. Can anyone suggest what type of .357 ammo to use for target practice. I'm not really interested in whether or not it will pierce somebody's body. Just would like to know the best grip and ammo to use.

No such load, did you mean 140gr? Also it's 110 grain, not grams. Your 605 is regulated to shoot to POA with 158gr ammunition.

Not trying to start a Pachmayer vs Hogue debate but which would you all prefer and why. I currnetly have a set of hogues on my 450 but that was also all that was available. Not trying to hijack just interested since the topic is on grips.

All those are really nice grips but I've found if you carry this one is hard to beat. Very confortable carring in belt or pocket.
