Wheel gun fever has struck again

I have been window shopping for a 357 Magnum revolver for a few months and after my wife eyeballed a 357 at the LGS after a range trip a few weeks ago the wheel gun fever hit me hard and I couldn't resist. I ordered a 617 in stainless last night and now the wait begins until it is at my local FFL. With any luck it will be here Friday or Saturday and I can take it to the range for a break in this weekend. If not it will be an entire week before I can get it due to a business trip I have to go on.

I know that there are several of you that own this firearm as well. What are some of you favorite CCW holsters? I currently have a Theis for my 24/7, do any of you have one for this one? I will post pictures and a report when I get it to the range.

I am using a Tri-Vertible rig ( vertical or horizontal shoulder set up that can also be used OWB ) it can be used either Right or left hand. I also have an old paddle style with loops that snap over the belt. the holster mounts on a metal tab and then snaps to the paddle to secure it making it very easy to remove if you have to go into an area where you cannot carry. I originally bought it for use with the Colt Cobras. I also have a Blackhawk nylon OWB for field and everyday carry including an occassional run into town.

I do love the way the 617 soaks up the recoil from the full house 158 gr. 357 magnums it feel almost like the Colt Cobras shooting 38 specials.

I have a tri-vertible ( vertical, horizontal, shoulder rig and the holster can be taken off and used OWB ) all modes are either right or left hand. In the shoulder mode it is secured to the waist band with suspender style clips which seem to hold well. I also have an older paddle style holster I originally used with the Colt Cobras. For use around the place and an occassional run into town I have a Blackhawk nylon OWB holster also.

I can say I really like the 617 mine is the SST version and it really tames the recoil of the 158 gr. 357 magnums.

Great choice! My hands down favorite snub nose. I keep my Blued 617 in my waist band as soon as i get home at night. I have a very rudimentary Uncle Mike's IWB holster which does the trick for home security and is really comfortable. I am still looking for a good holster as well for carry so I will be researching like you. You can do a nice shady tree trigger job with the Wolff springs shooters pack. Mine is really smooth now. I agree it tames Magnums quite nicely.

Revolver fever is the best one to have! I hope that you enjoy your 617. The fever is after me a little bit too. It is making my brain think I need to buy a 731....
HE thinks, therefore I am! <><

The problem with revolver fever is that it never goes away. Revolvers tend to multiply. Congratulations!

Due to the rising cost of ammo. A warning shot will NOT be fired!!

Congrats on placing your order for a handgun that, I'm sure, you're going to be very pleased with!

I have a M605 in matte stainless, and have become a huge fan of the .357 magnum caliber!
