.38 SPL Owners, or others, Preferred SD Ammo???? Opinions wanted!!!!

I just bought my first Revolver, A taurus, at the recomendation of my firearms delaer. I Bought the Model 2- M850039UL. I bought 100 rounds to take to the range. I bought this as my concealed carry gun. I use to carry my Rug SR40 or P95, but wanted something smaller and lighter for when Spring/Summer comes and I'm riding my Harley. Soo, to ake a short story long, I've never bought PD ammo. I was just wanting some of you friendly folks opinion on your personal preference for PD/SD ammo. I figure I'll need it for the 38 Spl. Thanks in advance for your feedback!!!! Also got this for 279.00 on sale, bad price???? Goood price????

Sounds like you got a pretty good deal.
I carry federal Hydroshok 110gr low recoil in mine. It is an older model, made in '88, and +p is not recommended. I suppose I could use hotter rounds for SD, but why punish myself with the recoil. Mine is primarily a BUG, that is, when I can get it away from my wife.

I gave $269.99 for mine best I recall, but then I had to pay shipping of $15 and transfer fee of $20. So I would say you did pretty well on the price. Or maybe that was my magnesium version. Either way you did good. They are great little carry guns and keep things simple whenever they are needed.

I carry Hornady Critical Defense rounds in mine, as I do in all my personal defense weapons.

Yeah I guess I got lucjy, as the gun was in stock so no shipping or transfer fee. With tax and 100 rounds of ammo it came out to 323.00. Woe a Magnesium version for that price is really good. Mine is the Aircraft grade alluminu, I believe that's what my dealer said. looks like we both did pretty good!
