    Taurus Model 689

Good evening, I have purchased a used model 689 stainless vent rib, 6 inch barrel. Gun is in very good condition cosmetically but the cylinder upon lock-up seems to have a fair amount of play, I have not shot this gun yet so I can't say if it interfears with proper function. Since Taurus has a lifetime warranty should I send it to them for inspection and what is the best method of doing such.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

If it has more play than is normal for a revolver, call Taurus and tell them the problem and send it in. You'll likely have to pay shipping, and you can either have the FFL send it in or I *believe* you can have Taurus send you the Fed Ex stuff you'll need to send it to them.

The 689 will have a little rotational play during lock-up, they don't lock up tight like some other revolvers. I'd be more concerned if the cylinder had excessive play from front to back during lock up. Mine has a little rotational play but that was since day one and probably a thousand rounds after it is pretty much unchanged, never had an issue with my 689.
